Character Education:

Here at Woodridge Elementary our character-building lessons and activities address the six pillars of character.  In additional support of character education, your Eagle will receive classroom-based lessons from the counselor. These lessons have been designed to reinforce character education, strengthen social skills, teach children how to understand and manage their emotions, and so much more.

How can you (the caregiver) get involved? Great question!

  • Speaking of and modeling these traits at home is the best way to teach about character.
  • Praise your student and encourage them to continue to make positive choices.
  • Point out when you see your student exhibiting one of these traits.

Practice these tips daily and they will not only be excited that you noticed their effort, but they will also want to keep up the good behavior!
